HOUSE SLAVE, New Amsterdam, Manhattan 1651

Dutch colonial slave woman sings a lullaby to her mistress' baby. I propose that this event took place in the house on the Bouwerie farm purchased in 1651 by P. Stuyvesant, Diretor-General of New Netherland, and located in the lower east side of Manhattan Island.
